      A Charitable Unitrust

When Charles and Carolyn Bloom met each other in Chemistry Lab of Weber Hall in 1945, it marked the beginning of a lifelong love affair.

Since that time, they and their family have also maintained a loving relationship with their alma mater. Charles served as a member of Pacific's Board of Regents from 1992 until 1999, and one of their sons, Gary is a 1975 graduate of the School of Engineering.

When Pacific announced its current $200 million campaign Charles approached Duane Isetti '63, Director of Planned Giving, to discuss how he and Carolyn might utilize the sale of their vacation home to craft a substantial gift for the campaign. The result was a term-of-years charitable trust that enabled the Blooms to not only make a substantial gift but also make use of several tax advantages provided by the charitable trust.

Charles was especially pleased knowing he could divide his gift to his areas of interest at the School of Dentistry, the School of Engineering and the Eberhardt School of Business.

Like Charles and Carolyn, you can also experience the deep satisfaction of making a significant gift to Pacific-a gift for which generation of students will be grateful.
